Nomura Research Institute Ltd. needed to consolidate 20 legacy database servers for its investment trust OTC sales system while improving batch processing speed, increasing storage capacity, and maintaining high availability for time-critical financial services. To meet these goals, NRI turned to Oracle Exadata to support its BESTWAY financial cloud platform and deliver investment trust information faster to customers across Japan’s financial institutions.

Oracle Exadata helped Nomura Research Institute integrate the 20 servers into four Oracle Exadata Database Machines, shortening daily batches by two hours and monthly batches by 18 hours. The solution also cut data-center operating costs, improved information delivery speed by up to 136x, increased storage capacity 8x, and supported transaction growth for the next 10 years while enhancing reliability and service quality.
