A Oracle Exadata Case Study
Land O’Lakes, the agribusiness cooperative, was managing a large hybrid IT environment with many on-premises systems while shifting aggressively toward SaaS and PaaS. The company needed to modernize applications, integrate cloud and on-premises systems, and support 8,000 active users and 600 terabytes of data, while keeping critical plant and manufacturing operations reliable. Oracle Exadata was part of the on-premises Oracle engineered systems used in this transformation.
Oracle Exadata helped Land O’Lakes consolidate key workloads alongside Oracle Exalogic and Exalytics, while Oracle Fusion Middleware connected cloud and on-premises applications. With Oracle Exadata and related Oracle cloud services, Land O’Lakes moved to a SaaS-first strategy, improved scalability and deployment speed, and reduced data center size and costs; the company reported that its data center kept shrinking and the price per terabyte continued to decline.
