A Oracle Exadata Case Study
KDDI Corporation, one of Japan’s leading telecom providers, needed to expand its mission-critical user authentication system to support the rapid growth in subscribers and data traffic from its au 4G LTE service while keeping mobile services stable. The company was also struggling with the complexity and cost of managing a 40-server farm, especially for a system that handles authentication, authorization, and accounting.
Oracle Exadata, alongside Oracle SuperCluster T5-8, helped KDDI consolidate and modernize the environment with a pretested, engineered solution. The result was 4x greater transaction performance on the database, 20x faster SQL processing, 12x faster authentication performance, 50% less floor space, and 15% lower electricity consumption, while improving availability with three production systems.
