A Oracle Exadata Case Study
JSC Bank of Georgia, Georgia’s leading bank, needed to maintain outstanding system availability and performance across branches, ATMs, online banking, and other channels while refreshing aging infrastructure and completing complex migrations within a tight downtime window. The bank turned to Oracle Exadata to support its core banking environment and help its IT team focus on customer-facing innovation instead of infrastructure upkeep.
Oracle Exadata replaced legacy Sun servers and Hitachi storage with two Oracle Exadata Database Machine X4 Half Racks, using Oracle Real Application Clusters and Oracle Active Data Guard for high availability and protection. Oracle Exadata helped cut end-of-day processing from 15 hours to 3 hours, reduced CPU load from 80% to 15% per node, and enabled a six-hour migration of 5,000 users, 70 applications, and multiple databases with minimal business interruption.
