A Oracle Exadata Case Study
Jet Infosystems, a Russian systems integrator serving industries such as telecommunications, banking, retail, insurance, and the public sector, needed a way to benchmark Oracle Database-based systems and prove the performance and cost benefits of Oracle Exadata Database Machine for its enterprise customers. Its challenge was to show that data-heavy workloads like online transaction processing and data warehousing could run far faster on Oracle Exadata, including the impact of Hybrid Columnar Compression.
Oracle Exadata helped Jet Infosystems run live customer demonstrations and proof-of-concept tests using customer data, migrations, and performance testing tools. The results were dramatic: SQL queries ran up to 800x faster on Oracle Exadata Database Machine than on commodity servers, call-data records for five telecom companies were compressed by 11x, and data processing reached up to 1.6 TB per hour with Oracle Recovery Manager.
