A Oracle Exadata Case Study
IDS GmbH – Analysis and Reporting Services, a subsidiary of Allianz SE, needed a central platform to consolidate investment and risk analysis data from more than 350 source systems and deliver timely financial reporting. As data volumes grew, the company also needed scalable storage, faster overnight processing, and lower total cost of ownership. Oracle Exadata Database Machine was selected to support these requirements.
With Oracle Exadata, IDS replaced its legacy Oracle-based data warehouse without coding or design changes, enabling a fast migration of about 10 TB of production data in one day. Oracle Exadata delivered 4x faster database performance, 3x faster reporting from day one, 35% lower storage ownership costs, tripled storage capacity from 50 TB to 150 TB, and cut backup times by 70%, helping IDS publish reports daily and provide faster insights to over 1,500 users.
