Hotelbeds, a global accommodation booking platform serving travel agencies, tour operators, airlines and OTAs, needed to improve database performance, reduce costs, and eliminate downtime while supporting rapid worldwide growth. The company was also under pressure to handle millions of bookings and far higher transaction volumes across its back-office and online systems.

Oracle Exadata, together with Oracle WebLogic Server 12c, Oracle Coherence, and Oracle GoldenGate, was implemented to deliver the performance, scalability, and availability Hotelbeds needed. As a result, bookings became 4.5 times faster, daily backups dropped from 12 hours to 1 hour, database administration costs fell by 20%, and Oracle Exadata helped eliminate more than $20M in annual lost business from planned downtime while supporting over 22.5 million bookings per year.
