A Oracle Exadata Case Study

Preview of the Federal Tax Service of Russia Case Study

Federal Taxation Service of Russia Ensures 30% Tax Revenue Increase, Cuts Storage Costs 10x, and Centralizes Data Access

Federal Tax Service of Russia needed a way to centralize fiscal data from regional and local offices, speed up reporting, and cut IT infrastructure costs while preserving decades of taxpayer records. Using Oracle Exadata Database Machine, the agency moved away from Microsoft SQL Servers and aimed to improve access to nationwide tax information and support better oversight of tax collection.

Oracle Exadata implemented three Exadata Database Machine instances with Oracle Database, Hybrid Columnar Compression, and high-availability features to consolidate data, reduce storage, and enable real-time reporting. The results included 20x faster information retrieval, 90% less storage use, a 50% reduction in IT staff, zero downtime, and measurable revenue gains, including a 30% increase in corporate tax revenue and a threefold rise in local tax revenues.
