A Oracle Exadata Case Study
DCM Holdings Co., Ltd., the operator of about 600 home-center stores in Japan, needed to unify fragmented database servers across its subsidiaries, speed up sales analysis, and cut IT maintenance and operating costs without disrupting store operations. To address these challenges, it worked with Oracle Exadata as part of a single-vendor Oracle solution for its store sales management and broader database environment.
Oracle Exadata helped DCM Holdings integrate six databases into one platform, migrate from Teradata, and centralize operations with support from Oracle Database 12c, Oracle SOA Suite, and Oracle GoldenGate. The result was 50% faster sales data analysis, 40% lower IT operating costs, and doubled processing speed for some sales calculations, while enabling seamless, no-downtime migrations and better support for future business expansion.
