A Oracle Exadata Case Study
City and County of San Francisco faced the challenge of modernizing its legacy infrastructure to improve availability, performance, and business continuity for critical services, while keeping systems ready for daily operations and minimizing downtime. The organization turned to Oracle Exadata to help support a high-availability environment for its core workloads and data-intensive applications.
Oracle Exadata implemented a high-performance engineered architecture with Oracle Database, Oracle Real Application Clusters, and Oracle Active Data Guard to improve resilience and protect production systems. The result was faster batch processing, stronger uptime, and better reporting performance; in the case study, end-of-day jobs were cut from 15 hours to 3 hours, CPU load dropped sharply, and Oracle Exadata helped complete a large migration with only six hours of downtime.
