An Post, Ireland’s national postal service, needed a scalable big data and analytics platform to handle millions of daily transactions, improve management reporting, cut administration time, and speed up the launch of new retail and postal services. To address these challenges, An Post worked with Oracle Exadata and related Oracle analytics and database technologies, including Oracle Advanced Analytics and Oracle Database 12c.
Oracle Exadata helped An Post build a single source of truth that automatically consolidated data from 1,100 post offices and hundreds of systems. The solution delivered real-time enterprise analytics, reduced ETL times by up to 90%, cut batch processing from 11 hours to 34 minutes, and enabled monthly financial results in minutes instead of weeks. Oracle Exadata also improved cash management, reduced fraud through real-time alerts, reduced storage by 12 terabytes, and helped An Post expect ROI within four years.
