Zamil Industrial Maximizes Staff Productivity and Data Security by Moving Databases and Application Servers to the Cloud with Zero Code Changes

Zamil Industrial Investment Company, a Saudi Arabian construction and engineering group with operations in 55 countries, needed to reduce pressure on its small IT team, consolidate databases spread across multiple sites, improve data consistency and document sharing, and lower the cost of managing application servers and databases. Working with Oracle Construction and Engineering, the company turned to Oracle Database Cloud Service and Oracle Java Cloud Service to support its global operations and critical business applications.

Oracle migrated Zamil Industrial’s databases and web services to the cloud with zero code changes, using a single Oracle Database instance and Oracle WebLogic-based Java Cloud Service to manage applications, backups, patching, and scaling. The result was a trusted single version of corporate data, stronger security and availability, improved developer productivity, and faster business agility. Zamil Industrial also cut one hour of daily maintenance per site, saving the equivalent of two full-time employees per year, while reducing travel for IT upgrades.
