Toyo Engineering Processes Index Search 13x Faster and Saves Storage Costs with Oracle

Toyo Engineering, a global engineering and construction firm, needed to improve access to its SHOKA document management system for 10,000 users worldwide as data growth began causing I/O bottlenecks and delays. The company wanted a more stable, scalable storage platform to support EPC project collaboration across countries and keep critical project information available around the clock, and turned to Oracle for help, using Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance.

Oracle implemented Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance ZS5-2 at both Toyo Engineering’s data center and disaster recovery site to replace the legacy storage environment. The new system cut storage costs by 20%, accelerated full-text index search by 13x from nearly two days to just 3 hours, reduced full backup time to 11 hours and incremental backup to 1 hour, and enabled faster, more reliable global collaboration and easier future scaling with improved data protection.
