Richard Crookes Cut Variation Review and Resolution Time in Half

Richard Crookes Constructions, an Australian residential and commercial builder, was focused on accelerating its digital transformation and increasing BIM adoption across projects. The company needed technology that could support different project stages, improve collaboration across teams, and make model data more useful during operations and maintenance. Oracle Construction and Engineering provided the platform used in the case study, Aconex Connected BIM.

Using Oracle Construction and Engineering’s Aconex as a common data environment, Richard Crookes Constructions enabled project-wide access to BIM models without special authoring or viewing software and brought the wider team, including the client, into model review cycles earlier. The results included about 5% fewer RFIs, 3–5% fewer variations, and variation review and resolution time cut by about 50%; claims also fell by an estimated 3–5%, while claim management became faster because project history was easier to access.
