Port of Fujairah, a multipurpose port operator in the United Arab Emirates, needed to modernize aging IT infrastructure that was slowing Oracle E-Business Suite and a niche port services application. The outdated hardware was hurting application performance, availability, reporting speed, and disaster recovery readiness, creating end-user issues across finance, HR, procurement, and operations.

Oracle Construction and Engineering helped Port of Fujairah deploy Oracle Database Appliance X6-2 High Availability with Oracle Real Application Clusters to improve performance, add high availability, and create a disaster recovery solution. The new environment cut general ledger reporting from 10 hours to a few minutes, reduced payroll processing for more than 800 employees from 2 hours to a few minutes, eliminated downtime, and lowered total cost of ownership through capacity-on-demand and license savings.
