Mirvac Saves 700 Man Hours in Handover Preparation

Mirvac, an Australian residential and commercial property company, needed a better way to manage communications, field inspections, defect resolution, and handover documentation on the high-profile EY Centre at 200 George Street. Oracle Construction and Engineering’s Aconex platform, along with Aconex Field and Aconex Smart Manuals, was used to help streamline these processes and keep the project on schedule.

Oracle Construction and Engineering implemented Aconex for document and communication management, Aconex Field for inspections, and Aconex Smart Manuals for compiling handover manuals. The results included improved version control and communication flow, reduced errors and rework, and significant time savings: about 100 hours in review/approval cycles, 40+ hours per month in field inspections, and three weeks of effort saved by six people for O&M manuals, with overall administrative and labor savings of roughly $50,000 and $100,000.
