Austin Commercial, working on the San Francisco International Airport Terminal 1 Boarding Area B project with Webcor in a joint venture, needed a better way to share information across company platforms and maintain a single source of truth. The team faced challenges with collaboration across the JV, managing complex review cycles, coordinating airport project information, and handling BIM files from design through handover. Oracle Construction and Engineering provided Aconex to support the project.

Oracle Construction and Engineering implemented Aconex as a neutral cloud-based common data environment with configurable RFI, submittal, and approval workflows, plus metadata search and naming conventions to manage documents and BIM files. The results included 75% less time spent tracking and reporting on RFIs and submittals, a 10x improvement in finding the right version of the right document or drawing, and a 66% reduction in document control hours.
