Baylor University cuts costs and improves student experiences

Baylor University, a major higher education institution, faced challenges with outdated and disconnected legacy systems for its HR and finance operations. The university needed to modernize its back-office processes to control costs, reduce manual errors, and free up resources to better support its classrooms and research labs. To address this, they partnered with the vendor Oracle Cloud and implemented its Cloud ERP, EPM, and HCM applications.

By implementing the integrated suite from Oracle Cloud, Baylor replaced 17 to 18 disparate systems with a unified platform. This solution streamlined processes, reducing the steps to hire an employee from 26 to just 6 or 7 and cutting payroll runs from 11 per month to 2. The results were significant, including a $37 million increase in online education revenue attributed partly to simplified student onboarding. Oracle Cloud provided the university with real-time data, improved efficiency, and substantial cost savings.
