AutoZone taps Oracle Cloud to find people with ‘right stuff’

AutoZone, the auto parts retailer, needed a modern human capital management system to support rapid growth, improve hiring, and identify candidates who fit its customer-focused culture. To address the limits of its legacy HR technology, it turned to Oracle Cloud HCM, along with Oracle Application Integration, to streamline recruiting, onboarding, and employee management while continuing to work with existing systems.

Oracle implemented Oracle Cloud HCM in phases, starting with talent management and later adding core HR, payroll, absence management, and self-service tools. The result was a major boost in recruiting efficiency: in the first 30 days, AutoZone received 93,000 applications, more than four times the prior year, while mobile applications cut the average application time from 20 minutes to 10 minutes and automated background checks and onboarding freed managers to focus on higher-value work.
