WestNet Energy taps Aconex for one of Australia’s longest natural gas pipelines

WestNet Energy deployed Oracle Aconex on the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline—a US$1.6 billion, nearly 1,600 km project in Western Australia—to manage a complex delivery with 870 participants from 50 organizations and roughly 160,000 documents. The main challenge was standardizing information processes and maintaining transparency and continuity as companies joined and left the program.

They implemented Aconex as a central collaboration platform to store all documents, drawings, schedules, specifications and vendor files with strong file management and search capabilities. This delivered improved project-wide communications, standardized procedures for document numbering, submittals, approvals and correspondence, consistent data and processes across organizations, and more efficient vendor document management.
