A Oracle Aconex Case Study
Wellcome Collection, part of the Wellcome Trust, carried out a US$28M reconfiguration and refurbishment of its 1932 London building to accommodate a rise in visitors from 100,000 to 500,000 annually. The high‑profile project involved 130 people across 30+ organisations, demanded exceptionally high quality and public expectations, and required full owner control plus improved efficiency in field inspections and issues management.
The team used the Aconex online collaboration platform—supporting design reviews, tendering, and Aconex Mobile and Aconex Field for real‑time site data and photos—to centralize documents and communications. Outcomes included secure cloud storage, a neutral source of current documents and correspondence, synchronized owner‑defined workflows, faster issue resolution and a complete audit trail, allowing the owner to retain full control of the project.
