Oracle Aconex supported the US$1.2 billion Reef Island residential and commercial development in Manama, Bahrain, managed by Davis Langdon & Seah International. The project’s scale and complexity — 39 residential buildings, a hotel, villas, retail, infrastructure and specialist consultants across Bahrain, the UAE, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Spain and the UK — demanded secure, scalable document storage and exchange and exposed the limitations of commercial email for tracking communications.

Aconex provided a cloud-based platform for real-time collaboration, registration and tracking of drawings, documents, cost plans and correspondence with 24/7 access and full version control. At peak the project team processed 6,300 transactions and transmitted 3,000 documents to 14 organizations per month; document management delivered significant time and cost savings, tracking every change and approval while the platform’s cost remained minimal relative to the project.
