Qatar rail reduces number of overdue reviews by 50% with Aconex

The Qatar Rail Program is a US$36 billion, state-led infrastructure project building an integrated rail network in Qatar. Managing vast volumes of drawings and documents across multiple organisations created unacceptably long review cycles, heavy paper handling, poor visibility into progress, and mail response times of up to 30 days.

By deploying Oracle Aconex with configured workflows, a central trackable communications platform and electronic transmission of files, the team automated reviews and produced fast weekly reports. As a result, complex review cycles dropped to under 10 days, overdue reviews fell from 18% to 9% or less, response times improved by 80% (from 30 days to five), and paper, printing and handling costs were greatly reduced.
