Pingat XD Reduces Scope Changes by 20% Using Aconex Connected BIM

Pingat XD, part of Groupe Pingat, managed the Learning Center — Paris Saclay, a combined library, outreach venue and collaborative workspace in Paris. The project brought together teams using different BIM tools and stakeholders who didn’t have BIM software, creating challenges in cross-organization file transfer and review, limited client access to models, a need for greater transparency and collaboration, and slow resolution of RFIs and variation requests.

Pingat implemented Aconex Connected BIM as a common data environment to test IFC models and provide integrated web-based viewing/editing without authoring software, plus secure organization workspaces and configurable workflows. The results: 95% faster sharing of large BIM files (2–3 minutes vs. over an hour), 90% faster model viewing (2–3 minutes vs. 30 minutes and a plug-in), 75% faster distribution, 20% fewer RFIs/variations, quicker issue resolution and a more transparent, collaborative project culture.
