New airport project takes off with help from Aconex

Basil Read, the primary contractor on the US$379 million Saint Helena Airport project, faced major logistical and information-management challenges building an airfield on a remote South Atlantic island. The scope—runway, terminal, fuel storage and access road—and a supply chain from South Africa created large volumes of documents and geographically dispersed teams that needed to be tracked and coordinated to manage risk and stay on schedule.

Aconex delivered a secure, centralized platform for document and communication management, enabling access, distribution, tracking and archiving across all project partners. The system created a permanent audit trail and project-defined workflows, improving process control, accountability and schedule adherence while fully supporting the international supply chain.
