ISG Resolves Defects 200% Faster with Mobile Defect Inspection

ISG, the construction and fit-out contractor, used a mobile defect inspection solution on the fit-out of a new £2m high-tech facility in Aberdeen for an oil and gas client. With 19 specialist subcontractors to coordinate, ISG faced challenges improving defect management, maintaining consistent quality, and mitigating the risk of cost and schedule delays on a complex project.

By capturing defects on-site with mobile devices linked to a cloud platform—configured to ISG’s processes—teams could prioritize, share and resolve issues in real time. In under two months 319 defects were recorded and closed to ISG standards, administrative effort was dramatically reduced, inspections ran 150–200% faster, and the project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget.
