Oracle Aconex supported IKEA’s major refurbishment of its Wembley flagship store in London—a 6,000 m² revamp that added 60 new display rooms, six complete display homes, 40 checkout lanes, a children’s play area and a 1,000 m² restaurant for 600 guests. The high‑profile project involved a large, diverse team of specialist firms across the U.K., requiring centralized collaboration, real‑time information sharing and common workflows to avoid miscommunication, information loss, disputes, rework and delays.

Using a secure, central collaboration platform, project partners could access, distribute, track and archive thousands of documents and correspondence items in real time from any location, with web search for fast retrieval. The result was improved team efficiency and timely document review and approval, reduced paper use and environmental impact, and lowered risk from outdated document versions that could cause disputes or rework.
