A Oracle Aconex Case Study
Graham delivered the North Island Hospitals Project, a US$488 million public–private partnership to build two hospitals on Vancouver Island (153 beds in Comox Valley and 95 beds in Campbell River) that together required tight coordination across sites 43 km apart. The design‑build effort involved more than 500 team members from about 100 organizations and faced high document volumes, complex workflows, strict PPP and LEED Gold compliance, and intensive stakeholder visibility.
Graham deployed the Aconex platform for document control, correspondence, workflow and field management, creating a searchable audit trail and project‑wide collaboration. The solution cut tender solicitation cycles by 90% (from one day to an hour or less for 32 tender packages and 202 invitations), reduced RFI turnaround by 50% (saving ~C$60,000/year), and sped defect logging/distribution by 80–85% (from 15 minutes to 2 minutes), while providing the reporting and visibility needed for P3 requirements.
