Emirates Health Services reaches 90% patient satisfaction with Oracle Aconex during pandemic refill program

Emirates Health Services (EHS) faced the challenge of ensuring psychiatric patients received their critical medication refills and continued care during COVID-19 lockdowns, when in-person hospital visits were not possible. To address this, EHS partnered with vendor Oracle Aconex and its Oracle Health team to develop a new virtual program.

Oracle Aconex's solution involved deploying a custom MPage within the pharmacist workflow to create a daily worklist of patients due for refills. Pharmacists then contacted patients, processed refills, and used Cerner OPENLink to send confirmation texts before couriers delivered medications. The program also incorporated video teleconsultation for patient education. This solution achieved a 90% patient satisfaction rate and is considered a sustainable model for chronic and elderly patient care beyond the pandemic.
