A Oracle Aconex Case Study
Egypt’s National Authority for Tunnels (NAT), delivering Line 3 Phase 3 of the Greater Cairo Metro, faced slow paper-based workflows across a massive program—managing over 1 million as-built drawings, limited visibility into JV contractors’ processes, onboarding 400 rotating engineers, and the risk of schedule penalties. NAT standardized on a modern project-wide platform and, after a two-month parallel run, had digitized more than 75% of its project processes.
Using Oracle Aconex as a central information-management system from design through operations provided full visibility, trackability and rapid reporting, eliminating hard-copy routing. Cross-organization workflows sped up by at least 50% (from ~15–20 days to 7–9 days), submittals were halved to a maximum of 14 working days, internal correspondence improved by ~25%, filing and search became fast and accurate, the cost of housing and managing 1M drawings was removed, archives are available for operations and future projects, and NAT achieved zero lost documents.
