Built gets it built with Aconex

Built, a national construction, refurbishment and fit-out contractor, used Aconex on the A$100M 20 Martin Place project in Sydney — a 22‑storey, 19,080 m² office refurbishment that stripped the building to its steel frame, relocated the core and installed a high‑performance façade. The project faced a dispersed team of 500+ across Australia and the U.S., stringent sustainability targets (5‑Star NABERS and 5‑Star Green Star As‑Built), an aggressive 18‑month schedule, and slow, manual site inspections that delayed close‑out.

Built deployed the Aconex collaboration platform and Aconex Field on iPads, applied a “first principles” design‑review process and used QR‑code scanning for area inspections. This gave instant access to up‑to‑date documents and consolidated inspection issues, cut manual defect identification from 2–3 days to under an hour, shortened review cycles via mapped submittals, and reduced rework and cost overruns while meeting programme and sustainability goals.
