Alderon Iron Ore Corp. and Aconex forge project around new mine

Alderon Iron Ore Corp. partnered with Aconex on the US$1.27 billion Kamistiatusset (Kami) Iron Ore Project in the Labrador Trough near Wabush, Labrador City and Fermont, targeting 8 million tonnes per year from 2015. The project faced hundreds of thousands of documents across 150+ document types, a large, globally dispersed team (from St. John’s to China), fragmented collaboration via email and multiple servers, and a critical need for 24/7 access to current documentation.

Aconex delivered a neutral, cloud-based single platform for document management, viewing, control and audit trails, with easy search and retrieval. The result was real-time global access to current documents, shortened turnaround times, automated control of hundreds of thousands of files, and a fully operational project team within weeks of deployment.
