African Minerals (AML) used Oracle Aconex to manage the Tonkolili Iron Ore Mine Expansion in Pepel, Sierra Leone. The large, multi‑contractor project involved more than 25 local and international organizations and required immediate, reliable access to drawings and documents while protecting against data loss or deletion.

AML implemented Aconex as a single, secure, neutral platform to streamline collaboration, provide 24/7 document and correspondence exchange, enforce workflows and audit trails, and integrate with internal document, scheduling and costing systems. As a result, the project gained tighter control, consistent processes across participants, faster document review and approvals, and clear contractor ownership of information.
