Aconex supports massive, 10-year public development project

Oracle Aconex supported the West Kowloon Cultural District, a US$2.8 billion, 10-year cultural infrastructure development on 40 hectares in Hong Kong. The project faced major challenges: dense underground utilities and transport lines, a 1,300-person team from 80 organizations across Asia, Europe and North America, mandatory BIM adoption requiring model collaboration, and complex, high-volume workflows for drawings, RFIs, change orders and other documents.

Aconex delivered a comprehensive project information management solution with cloud storage, version control, workflow-driven review/approval and Aconex Connected BIM for model collaboration. The platform was configured in two weeks, was easy for a large, dispersed team to adopt, enabled anytime access and immediate electronic distribution of updated documents to contractors, and significantly reduced paper and processing time—“Aconex saves us time and paper,” said Dr. Stewart Wan.
