Aconex puts huge transportation project on Fast Track

RTD FasTracks is Denver’s US$5 billion transit expansion program—12 major construction projects including 122 miles of new rail, 57 stations and extensive supporting infrastructure—plus 25 smaller capital projects. With more than 3,000 project members from 150 organizations, literally millions of documents and dozens of concurrent projects to track on a public budget, RTD needed a way to coordinate work, control information and maximize every dollar spent.

RTD adopted Aconex as a single, central collaboration platform to manage project information, automate review and approval workflows and enforce document version control and audit trails. The system consolidated over 2.3 million documents, enabled timely approvals and gave RTD control across projects, delivering US$116 million in direct savings from cost reductions, productivity gains, schedule acceleration, dispute avoidance and reduced rework.
