A Oracle Aconex Case Study

Aconex lands world’s largest airport terminal project

Oracle Aconex supported the US$2 billion Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3 project in New Delhi — a 520,000 m², 3+ km terminal built to handle 34 million passengers and ready for the Commonwealth Games. The program faced a compressed 39‑month schedule, a globally dispersed team of more than 70 organizations (45 outside India), and inefficient communications using FTP sites, hard copies and email that created bottlenecks and missed turnaround targets.

Aconex provided a single, secure collaboration platform to manage all project documents and communications, with automated review/approval workflows and a full audit trail. The solution handled over 300,000 documents and 1 million emails (as many as 100,000 in a month), made every item searchable and remotely accessible, centralized notifications and tasks, and enabled on‑time delivery for the Games.
