Aconex helps rail operator keep project on track

Oracle Aconex supported KiwiRail (formerly ONTRACK) on the US$283 million Auckland Metro Rail System Electrification — the largest rail redevelopment in New Zealand since the 1980s, covering signalling, overhead lines, power supply and new rolling stock. The project required tight coordination among numerous public and private participants spread across 4,000 km of track, with thousands of drawings, documents and communications that needed accurate tracking and timely distribution.

Aconex delivered a common information-management platform so participants could view, distribute and track information in real time, backed by an audit trail and standardized processes. This drove improved efficiency and productivity, streamlined communications, anytime/anywhere access to project information, and a complete documented archive for future operation and maintenance.
