Aconex helps major road project stay in the fast lane

Oracle Aconex supported COJAAL on the eastern section of Algeria’s $11.2 billion East‑West Highway — a 399 km, six‑lane, $5 billion motorway with 190 bridges, viaducts and tunnels. The project involved a 2,000‑member, globally dispersed team across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and North America, handling tens of thousands of drawings and documents. Physical file distribution caused schedule delays and raised the risk of miscommunication, errors and costly rework.

Aconex deployed a neutral, cloud‑based collaboration platform to centralize document and correspondence management, give realtime access, distribution, tracking and archiving, and allow each party to control its information. The solution reduced exposure to information loss, disputes and outdated documents, enabled the five joint‑venture partners to share data in real time to help keep the project on time and on budget, lowered documentation control costs, and included on‑the‑ground training and support.
