German Research Institute advances additive manufacturing with Oqton 3DXpert in 10–15 minute heat-treatment experiments

The Leibniz Institute for Materials Engineering (IWT), a german research institute, required advanced additive manufacturing software to support its groundbreaking materials research. Their challenge was to find a solution offering extensive parameter control and compatibility with a wide array of 3D printers to facilitate complex experiments. They selected 3DXpert from the vendor Oqton to meet these needs.

Oqton's 3DXpert software provided the IWT researchers with a comprehensive suite of tools for build preparation and simulation. The solution enabled them to efficiently test numerous parameter combinations, accelerating their research into titanium alloys and shape memory alloys. As a result, the institute can now push innovation forward for industrial applications in aerospace and medical technology.
