Valmet Moved Its Global Payments To The Cloud

Valmet, the global supplier of technologies, automation and services for the pulp, paper and power industries, needed to build a harmonized, highly automated global payment infrastructure and consistent processes for reconciling and posting customer payments across its international Financial Service Centers. To achieve a centralized, secure bank channel and favor SaaS, Valmet selected OpusCapita’s cloud-based payment solution, integrated with the SWIFT Alliance Lite 2 service.

OpusCapita deployed its cloud payment platform (first implemented in 2015 in Valmet’s Montreal center), providing global SWIFT connectivity and automated reconciliation (including lockbox file processing). The solution removed much manual work in North America, sped up operations, harmonized payment processes, improved cash accounting and cash‑flow forecasting, and made liquidity management easier and more predictable. Valmet continues to expand the rollout and work with OpusCapita on further automation using robotics and machine learning.
