Outsourcing Produced Flexible And Cost-Efficient Payroll Administration

Metso Corporation faced major structural change after its 2013 demerger, which created an urgent need for a more flexible, cost-efficient way to run payroll for its Finnish operations. To address this, Metso selected OpusCapita’s payroll process service and transferred payroll administration for its Finland units to OpusCapita in spring 2014.

OpusCapita now handles payslips for about 3,000 white- and blue‑collar employees across five Metso companies in Finland; since the transfer salaries have been paid on time and without errors, and Metso reports that the project delivered the targeted cost benefits and greater flexibility. OpusCapita also increased visibility and standardization in payroll processes, supported integration with Metso’s global systems, identified automation opportunities, and kept operations stable during unexpected business changes.
