ims Internationaler Medien Service (ims) is a Hamburg‑based B2B media procurement specialist that manages thousands of print and digital subscriptions and millions of product records. Faced with the complexity and volume of presenting, ordering, delivering and billing printed and digital media — and the need to integrate media procurement into customers’ eProcurement/SAP environments — ims engaged OpusCapita to provide the software backbone, using OpusCapita Product Information Manager (PIM) and the OpusCapita Online Product Catalog (OPC).

OpusCapita deployed its PIM to editorially prepare and continuously update millions of titles and publish content, images and prices into the OPC, which exposes roughly 14 million media products and connects to customers’ ERP systems via the SAP Open Catalog Interface. The solution created “a strong back‑end” for fast daily updates, an Amazon‑style buying experience, centralized purchasing with fewer accounts, improved cost transparency and straightforward IT integration — helping ims consolidate media procurement across its network (served from 19 logistics locations) and strengthen its position in German‑speaking markets.
