Consistent Order Processes For A Variety Of Companies And Sites

voestalpine, a global technology and capital goods group with about 500 companies in 50 countries, faced highly fragmented procurement: its SAP setup was not designed for shopping, external catalogs weren’t embedded, product and supplier data lived in multiple systems, and ordering processes varied by site. To standardize ordering, secure purchase data, and cut Purchasing operating expenses, voestalpine engaged OpusCapita and adopted the Online Product Catalog (OPC) from jCatalog (an OpusCapita company), alongside PIM and the Self Service Manager (SSM).

OpusCapita implemented a centralized web-based portal that made procurement processes transparent and easy to use, enabled suppliers to self-manage catalogs, and automated data quality checks. The result: over 2,300 users across the Group, catalog-based orders more than doubled to over 100,000, material master items were reduced by over 20,000, processing times and costs fell, Purchasing operating expenses dropped, and the supplier base was substantially reduced. OpusCapita’s solution delivered faster, more compliant, and lower-cost procurement for voestalpine.
