Case Study: SummaCare achieves a 3.5-to-4 Star rating improvement with Optum360 Stars Management Reporting

A Optum360 Case Study

Preview of the SummaCare Case Study

SummaCare Health Insurance manages its Star rating using actionable insight from Optum’s reporting platform

SummaCare, a regional, provider-owned health plan, needed a faster, more accurate way to monitor Medicare Stars measures and close gaps at the provider and member levels. To meet that need, SummaCare engaged Optum360 and adopted Optum Stars Management Reporting for an intuitive, dashboard-driven reporting solution that delivered member- and provider-level detail accessible to authorized users across the organization.

Optum360 implemented the visual, actionable reporting platform along with training and ongoing support so teams could prioritize interventions and run corrective action plans. As a result SummaCare improved its overall Stars rating from 3.5 to 4, and key measures—such as Colorectal Cancer Screening and Members Choosing to Leave the Plan—moved from 3 to 4 and were tracking to achieve 5 in 2018, increasing confidence, control and targeted engagement.
