Case Study: Trizetto achieves modernized core administration and streamlined operations with Optum

A Optum Case Study

Preview of the Trizetto Case Study

Replacing a Core Administrative Processing Solution (CAPS)

Trizetto, a regional nonprofit health plan, faced a critical deadline when its license for a legacy core administrative processing solution (CAPS) was expiring and needed a replacement that reduced complexity, tightened integration, increased automation, and improved end‑user productivity. Trizetto engaged Optum to guide vendor selection and implementation, choosing the TriZetto® Facets® platform and running a parallel enterprise data warehouse (EDW) project to normalize legacy and new-system data.

Optum delivered an eight‑track, governance-driven program that redesigned workflows, migrated three years of claims, enrollment and provider data, built integrations and an EDW, and deployed requirements, testing, and reporting tools to ensure traceability. The Optum-led implementation produced a modern enterprise architecture enabling interoperability, predictive analytics and new reimbursement models, which reduced provider burden, improved customer satisfaction and accelerated the plan’s ability to launch innovative products.
