The American Society of Interior Designers - Customer Case Study

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the largest association for the interior design industry with 30,000+ members based in Washington, DC, needed a flexible, collaborative “Workplace of the Future” when it moved into a new 8,500 sq ft HQ with no assigned seating. To support varied workstyles across seven departments and improve health, wellness, and sustainability, ASID adopted Optix—using the Optix app for room bookings and Optix analytics to manage and measure space usage.

Optix provided real-time room booking, colleague invites, and an analytics dashboard that revealed how spaces were actually used and enabled data-driven changes (for example, repurposing an underused webinar studio). Within two years Optix helped ASID raise collaboration by 9% and productivity by 16%, while workspace accessibility scores improved—heads down +112%, private call +100%, interaction +68%, collaboration +41%—and utilization data showed private offices 62%, meeting rooms 22%, huddle rooms 12%, webinar rooms 0%. Optix’s tools made daily workplace management simpler and guided smarter design decisions.
