Optiv Helps Oil and Gas Company Implement Zero Trust

Global Oil and Gas Company worked with Optiv to address a range of access and security challenges, including determining the right remote access solution, reducing VPN dependence, authorizing access to specific business assets, and improving protection for critical applications. The company also wanted to explore moving business-critical applications to a micro-segmented network and strengthening security around key systems.

Optiv delivered a Zero Trust Assessment and implemented a zero trust solution that reviewed existing VPN and application ingress/egress points, defined new internal and external access policies, and added MFA support for both access paths. As a result, Global Oil and Gas Company gained a single solution for internal and external access, reduced reliance on VPN for a specific set of users, and successfully demonstrated a proof of concept to support broader zero trust rollout.
