Optiv Helps Global Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Client Implement OT SOC

Global Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company, one of the world’s largest research-based pharmaceutical firms, worked with Optiv to address growing cyber threats against SCADA networks and production-floor operations. The company also faced limited global visibility into vulnerabilities because assets were managed locally, legacy OT architecture made modernization difficult, and security depended on an overworked firewall.

Optiv deployed Microsoft Azure Defender for IoT across more than 30 factories and tuned sensors and alerts to improve OT monitoring. Working with the customer, Optiv created SOC runbooks, integrated OT alerts into a newly created SOC, and connected SIEM and CMDB environments. The result was improved visibility into the shop floor, faster separation of security and operational alerts, and a more modern defense posture for the client’s cyber environment.
