Local Government Agency Securely Integrates Data Across Consolidated Departments; Increases Protection and Compliance

Large Southern California County worked with Optiv to secure a newly consolidated environment spanning seven departments, more than 30 offices, and 6,000 employees. The county needed to integrate data sharing while protecting residents’ personally identifiable information (PII), standardizing security policies, and maintaining compliance with state regulations.

Optiv mapped regulatory requirements, selected appropriate technologies, and implemented an integrated security program that included data loss prevention (DLP), email encryption, SIEM logging, and web filtering. As a result, the county improved enforcement of security policies, increased PII protection, reduced PII violations and breach risk, and achieved compliance without adding staff or overburdening existing personnel.
