A Optimy Case Study
The Swiss Re Foundation, a Swiss NGO focused on health, income opportunities, resilience and climate risk, needed a better way to manage and spend its grant funds and maintain close relationships with grantees. With 1,769 volunteers, a CHF 6.95 million commitment and 18 new projects in 2019, the Foundation’s challenges included tracking applications and contracts, running multiple calls for proposals, and gaining the flexibility and independence to manage its portfolio — challenges it addressed by adopting the Optimy platform.
Optimy centralized the Foundation’s entire grant lifecycle — from initial applications and contract signing to progress reports, milestones and invoices — and delivered intuitive dashboards and financial grant management. As a result, the Swiss Re Foundation gained a complete overview of annual allocations and could track KPIs to ensure appropriate spending, kept project information and grantee relations organized, and benefited from self-service flexibility and responsive customer support from Optimy.
